Patagonian Routes Explorer (Chile & Argentina -19 days)
Come and discover the most beautiful national parks of Patagonia. This tour will appeal to keen hikers who want to discover the splendid trails of Patagonia at a walking pace. In Chile the trip follows the famous “W” circuit in the Torres del Paine National Park; here it is possible to visit three glaciated valleys with spectacular panoramas. In Argentina, you can visit the city of Ushuaia and the Tierra del Fuego National Park both located right at the end of the continent. In the Los Glaciares National Park the trails lead you to the foot of imposing granite walls of which the most famous ones are Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre, (the climbing accounts of these mountains resemble odysseys).
Although the Perito Moreno Glacier can be more easily reached by road the sight is no less impressive: it is an amazing wall of ice with large icebergs continually calving off the glacier. The hiking days vary between 4 and 8 hours daily with only a little bit of up and down, except when climbing up to the Los Tres lookout opposite Cerro Fitz Roy and the Torres lookout in the Torres del Paine National Park which both involve an incline of 900m. The treks are done with porters in the Torres del Paine National Park because the route connects between different mountain refuges each day.
